ISSUE ADVOCACY

PUBLIC SAFETY

Law and order is the foundation of a strong society, allowing families to go work, school, church and live their lives without fearing for their security. With robust public safety, small businesses can thrive, communities can grow, and most importantly - there are fewer victims of violent, criminal behavior. When every Georgian has peace of mind, they can pursue their livelihood and dreams.

Strong public safety means bringing criminals to justice. To ensure safe communities, not only does our state need well-resourced law enforcement - but we also need a vigorous justice system committed to prosecuting crime.

To improve public safety, we must continue to recruit, train and support men and women in law enforcement, who work to protect our communities. Our laws must require accountability from district attorneys - who too often refuse to prosecute offenders, letting criminals back out on the street. Finally, amid rampant crime, other reforms to punish criminal offenders is needed: preserving cash bail, cracking down on street gangs, and minimum sentencing.

EDUCATION

Access to high-quality education allows children from all walks of life to reach their potential. Georgia citizens are empowered when they and their families can access a quality learning environment. By helping kids succeed in the classroom, they can achieve their dreams, contribute their talents to their communities, and enjoy opportunity and prosperity.

Distant bureaucrats and political ideologies should never drive educational quality and content; rather, schools should retain local control, with the flexibility to deliver quality, student-centered curriculum. Importantly, parents should also have rights and a role in their children’s education, not only because they know what educational path is best for their children, but because they have every right to know what is being taught in their child’s classroom.

To improve education, we must recognize parents’ rights, while supporting expanded school choice to enable kids trapped in failing schools to have alternatives. Additionally, divisive ideology-based curriculum and inappropriate concepts have no place in the classroom. However, fairness does - which is why protecting Title IX and other measures that ensure a level playing field. Finally, a broad range of educational options offer more students the ability to succeed, whether in a traditional classroom setting, home schooling, an apprenticeship, or vocational school.

ECONOMIC PROSPERITY

Every Georgia citizen deserves the opportunity to live the American Dream - to work hard and achieve the success that enables a life of prosperity. With economic freedom, individuals have access to high-paying jobs and opportunities that increase their quality of life. Businesses have the freedom to innovate and generate growth that further benefits every community.

Economic prosperity is only possible when government recognizes that a pro-growth environment is a job creation engine and it incentivizes work. Undue regulatory burdens stifle growth and ineffective regulation creates disruptions. Free enterprise embraces common sense rules of the road. And appreciation of capitalism and the risks of socialism mean that smaller government (a limited bureaucracy and reasonable tax burden) incentivizes innovation and encourages capital investment and hiring. Meanwhile, workforce development requires a range of quality educational options to set our citizens and employers up for success.

Sustained economic development drives opportunity across the board. And it encourages investment - including in transportation infrastructure, technology and new manufacturing.  A pipeline of talent is necessary, and workforce development programs like vocational training and apprenticeships help, as does reducing red tape for licenses and certifications. By prioritizing the private sector and smaller government, we preserve economic freedom - which allows Georgians to decide what is best for their life and business, and keep more of what they earn.

ELECTION INTEGRITY

Greater Georgia was founded not only to register voters, advocate for key issues, and to grow and diversify the conservative movement, but also to protect the integrity of our elections. It’s why we strongly support laws to secure our elections, prevent election fraud, and that restore faith in the democratic process.

We believe that every legal voter should have the opportunity to cast their ballot in a lawful manner, and have it counted without fear of fraud or interference. A fair and transparent process that upholds the law - and that detects and prosecutes voter fraud or unlawful practices - is necessary to maintain public trust and participation in our elections.

We believe that election integrity laws are crucial for protecting the rights of American citizens. Illegal voting, ballot harvesting, non-citizens voting, and other forms of voter fraud dilutes the voices of lawful voters and compromises the outcome of elections. Greater Georgia advocates for laws that mean only legal votes count and the electoral process is fair, trusted, accessible and transparent. Upholding election integrity protects individual voters, and strengthens the democratic process for our constitutional republic.
